Review: Delicious Design “This Is Not Art 2”

Bridgeport, Design, Prints Add comments

Delicious Design and 32nd & Urban gallery where made for each other. Both are very much at the forefront of the redefinition of art as product, result of Warhol’s endless disciples. Delicious Design is a Chicago design company that creates silk-screened album covers, posters and magazine layouts, with an impressive client list including Lily Allen, Animal Collective and KT Tunstall. Delicious Design is not the first group of artist to print posters for bands; however, in this digital age they are the few still making work in the very analog medium of screen-printing. The nature of the medium of screen-printing enables them to straddle the line between “work” and “product” as all of their “pieces” are one of a kind. At just $20 each, the work is a steal. There are also adorable one of a kind t-shirts and bags for sale. 32nd & Urban is so awesome that it could become a too-cool-for-school gallery, but the owners and atmosphere are so friendly that the probability of this actually happening is zero.
