Bucktown Holiday Art Show
The twelfth annual Bucktown Holiday Art Show comes to the Holstein Park Fieldhouse this December, bringing the work of 100 artists for the perusal and purchase of Chicago art lovers of all stripes. On display are works in a variety of media, from photography to textiles, watercolors to oils, and jewelry to ceramics. Holstein Park Fieldhouse, 2200 N. Oakley. Chicago Artists’ Coalition Holiday Sale
Help support local emerging artists by dropping some coin at the Chicago Artists’ Coalition’s (CAC) annual Holiday Art Sale. The CAC is a not-for-profit organization which offers residency programs and rotating group showings at their Coalition Gallery for local Chicago artists. Their holiday sale will showcase the work of fourteen resident professional artists. Works in all media will be for sale including holiday-oriented items such as Christmas-tree ornaments and gift-cards. All works for sale will be priced under $100. Coalition Gallery, 2010 W. Logan Square Holiday Art Sale
Come on out to Cole’s Bar for the Logan Square Holiday Art Sale, featuring a wide array of fine art. The sale includes everything from more conventional painting and jewelry, to collages, recycled crafts, dioramas and even Mexican wrestling masks. Stick around after the sale to see exhibitions featuring neighborhood artists at Revolution Brew and Hairitics and an art installation at Threads Etc. Cole’s Bar, 2338 N. Milwaukee. Prairie School Adventures’ Gingerbread House Workshop
The Unity Temple Restoration Foundation’s Prairie School Adventures’ series presents a Prairie-style gingerbread house design workshop for kids grades 2-6. The workshop combines education and fun, teaching children about the principles of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie School of architecture in a delicious way. ‘Tis the Season at MCA
‘Tis the Season invites families to celebrate the season with contemporary art at the MCA. Families can connect and explore ideas in the galleries, using the designs and colors they see to create their own projects. At 1pm, families can celebrate the season with a special holiday Taiko drumming performance featuring three generations of artists. Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago, (312)280-2660.
