Like a discarded silk negligee sprinkled with multi-colored oils catching the light through a filmy window—so shine the sparkling canvases of Leslie Tejada. Her paintings are comprised of two layers: the first is one of color, a landscape or a stained glass over which lays a textured glittery cover of shimmer. “Cathedral,” the best of Tejada’s collection, is an exact interpretation of the holy water, dusty light and colorful glass of an old Catholic church. “House of Slytherin” is darker than Tejada’s other paintings and seems an odd fit with the other luminous canvases. Water and light are the clear inspirations for Tejada’s work and though her canvases are beautiful, aside from the two named, the pieces of this collection are all basically the same. (Rachel Turney)
