Today Expo Chicago announced the galleries that will be participating in the art fair’s fourth year. The 2015 iteration will take place September 17-20, 2015 at Navy Pier. The fair boasts growth from last year’s 137 to 140 confirmed participating galleries this fall.
A small shake-up in Chicago participants: Russell Bowman Art Advisory and Linda Warren Projects are not returning to the fair this year, but Western Exhibitions, casati gallery and Volume Gallery will join the main floor of exhibitors. Regards, a Ukrainian Village gallery that opened last summer, and the West Loop’s Aspect/Ratio are as of yet the only Chicago galleries included in EXPOSURE, the part of the fair reserved for younger programs and projects.
“We are extremely proud to announce this exceptional list of exhibitors for our fourth edition,” said Expo president and director Tony Karman in the fair’s press release. “Coupling this international list with incredible museum alignments, numerous special events, core programming and exhibitions bringing in notable artists, curators and collectors to our city, I am confident in saying that Chicago is definitely the place for the art world to be this September.”
This year’s fair will represent fifteen countries and forty cities from around the world. New international additions to the fair include Pearl Lam Galleries (Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore), Galerie Daniel Templon (Paris and Brussels), Travesía Cuatro (Madrid and Guadalajara), and Wentrup (Berlin). So start practicing your international salutations, trying on fashion-forward finery with big pockets for flasks, and getting on all the best lists for after parties and private events. (Matt Morris)
